Sir Edmund Hillary climb Mt Everest in 1953 but this is not why I admire him. It is what he went on to do in Nepal is why I admire him. He realised that life was hard for the people of Nepal so he worked with them and for them to improve their lives. He raised money to build schools and hospitals in Nepal. The Nepalese people appreciated what he did and he was honoured by them.
When we help others to improve their lives we are all richer for the experience. I like the quote 'Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats for the rest of his life.' By teaching others how to do things they can improve their lives.
